Cinema File: Raimi's 'Drag Me to Hell' a wave of awesome, as expected
The way I see it, director Sam Raimi owed me this movie. After revolutionizing the horror genre with his low-budget masterpiece, 1983's "Evil Dead," Raimi only made one more scary movie, the much-beloved "Evil Dead II," before hanging up his blood-soaked spurs for a career directing action-fantasy pictures.

Cinema File: 'Brain Dead' is classic horror
If you wanted to argue that the modern horror picture was born in the South, you'd have a pretty solid case. In the '60s and '70s, long before the era of the 24-screen multiplex, films like Herschell Gordon Lewis's "Blood Feast" and the original "Texas Chain Saw Massacre" were made specifically to be shown at drive-in theaters all across states like Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Kentucky to audiences looking for cheap, safe thrills and chills on a hot and humid Friday night.

Pixar's new movie, "Up," made me cry. If you haven't already seen it, you might have heard that the beginning of the movie is quite sad, but I don't entirely agree.
